After graduating from UConn, I moved to NYC where I studied dance for a few years and then Karate. I directed The Karate School for Women for twenty years and then began teaching yoga in hospitals - which I still do. I've never been married, marched in hundreds of protests, am a twenty-seven year survivor of breast cancer and am finally in the advanced Spanish class at The New School. It's a life.
School Story:

I remember when Doug Kenney got elected Class President. I was at Carole Breiner's house when we found out and, when we told her Dad, he got really excited. I think he called the Bridgeport Post. Everyone began talking about racism, segregation...equal rights. They were conversations that shaped the values I've had for the rest of my life.

I remember Mr Hunyadi's algebra class (which I loved) and Mrs. Eilson's atomic charts (which I didn't), getting my parent's car and driving up and down Main St. with Adele Liskov, having to play Hatikvah (poorly) on my accordion at every Christmas assembly and cracking up with John LeDonne in Miss Keating's Ancient History class because she clicked her false teeth.

I remember Nancy Pavone becoming a cheerleader. I thought that meant she wouldbe in the "popular crowd" and would stop being my friend. But, she remained sweet and modest...and she kept being my friend!

Roberta, it was so nice to see you in June at lunch — gosh, it had only been 64 years and where did those years go? Hope we can all get together again when the weather warms up. In the meantime, I hope you have a very Happy Birthday!

Have to add my two cents (lol). Bobbie, I know you've done lots of traveling to Mexico in between your many years of teaching yoga. So great to hear that you are doing well. So.... what are a couple of your favorite Mexican recipes??? By the way, I have also been blessed with good health and still have my own window treatment business - even continue to install them myself. 'Course living in Florida helps the body and the mind....gotta love it! Milt

Happy Birthday Roberta. Hope you're still in good health and enjoying life. Always great to update on this site - brings back so many memories of our younger times. But, life is what we make it and most of us chose to be positive and enjoy the ups and downs we all experience. When you get close to your 80's people finally begin to respect your opinions (lol).
