CHS Centerpiece

I moved this bit of memorabilia from What's New to its own page because it invites comments.  It was used as a centerpiece for one of our events and I got the original from Mr Nerreau because it was my idea.  I bought the book at a second hand book store next to the movie theater on Main St and he did the lettering.  The Sophisticated Swing was a dance in our sophomore year, we went to West Point for our class trip, and the Golden Fleecing won the play prize.  Any more memories here?

Gloria, could those be the highlights from our activities during our years at CHS? Moonlight Serenade was the name of our Senior Prom. I found the program along with the picture of me and my date.

They are definitely the names of various events from our years at Central. I think the Sophicated Swing was a dance from our Sophomore year. Our Class Trip was to West Point, and The Golden Fleecing was the award winning play from our Senior Year. Finally, Mrs Eielson and Mr. Buxton were our class advisors. Unfortunately, most of my memories are kind of foggy about the specifics of each event. Sharon, put that picture up on the site!

Mr. Nerreau's daughter was the head of the head dept at Stamford High when my son was there. She also was in charge of the set designs for all the plays and musicals in the drama club of which my son was a member. At one of the dinners we had I happened to ask her if she had any relatives by the same last name at Central High. And it turned out to be her father. She called him the following day and mentioned my name and the next thing I know she gives my son a picture of me from our yearbook that her father had given to her to give to me.

Gloria, boy, your memory is better than mine! I remembered the West Point Class Trip and the Senior Prom and I found the program from our Ring Dance, but there wasn't a name on it -- just Junior Ring Dinner Dance, Ritz Ballroom, April 21, 1960. I'll scan the picture tomorrow and put it up; unfortunately, my date is with one of our classmates and we broke up after high school!!!

I scanned this picture into the gallery when the site was first set up. I have the original because Mr Nerreau (sp) gave it to me. I bought the book he used to create our centerpiece for some event - maybe the Ring Dance? He did the lettering. Do you remember these special times? If you do, share your memories with us all!
