Robert Gelb Obituary

November 12, 2024


Robert (Bob) Gelb, 82, of Inman, SC, passed away on November 12, 2024 while at home, living out his dream of retiring to South Carolina.
Bob was born in Bridgeport, CT to Max and Florence Gelb. He graduated from Central High School in 1961. He honorably served in the Marine Corps for six years. He worked alongside his brother Richard for many years, as well AVCO Lycoming and retired from Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation. He studied and taught the art of Judo and Haganah and was known by many as Sensei. He wore his Marine and New York Giants colors with pride.
He is survived by his brother, Richard Gelb, nieces and nephews and their spouses Kelly Fitch, Jody Price, Lance Gelb, Michael Gelb and Marcie Schlager, as well as thirteen great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Marvin Gelb and his Godson Gary Gelb.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Easton.

My prayers go out to the Gelb family. We were kids together at Hallen School and graduated from Central High School together.  We were blessed to have grown up on Whiskey Hill. I'm an old friend of the Gelb family
