1944 - 2021

Marianne Stritch Fitzgerald, age 77, of Naugatuck, beloved companion of Howard Brooks, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Waterbury Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on January, 30, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Maietto Stritch. Before her retirement Marianne was a bus driver with the Naugatuck Public School System for over 20 years. She loved her job and being around the kids every day. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids. She was a loving mother, companion, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her beloved companion Howard of 44 years, survivors include her loving children, Theresa Sporko and her husband James of Waterbury, Doreen Otero and her husband Jose of Stratford, David Fitzgerald of Naugatuck, Shelley Johnson and her husband Cortez, whom she considered a daughter and a son, four grandchildren, Amanda Kastelein and her husband Jeremy, Andrew Adams, Hallie Otero and Stuart Sporko and five cherished great grandchildren, Avery, Easton, Emerson, Caden and Cole as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Richard David Fitzgerald and brothers, Michael Stritch and Andrew Stritch, Jr. and his wife Connie.

           Marianne was in a few of my clases and boy do I remember her beautful smile. We greeted each other daily at school but  we were not close friends.  That would be my loss.  My condolencse to her family and friends  and know that she was loved and appreciated by her family, friends and classmates. Rest in peace!
