Rita Marie Millo, age 82, a longtime resident of Newtown, Connecticut, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025, after a short stay at the Stone Bridge Center for Health & Rehabilitation in Newtown.

Born October 25, 1942, in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Doris K. (DelVecchio) Millo. She was a 1961 graduate of Central High School and the Sherwood School of Beauty Culture in Bridgeport.

She was an accomplished hairstylist for over 40 years and worked at The Fountain Blue in Westport for most of her career, as well as at 3030 Park in Bridgeport.

She was predeceased by her siblings: P. John Millo, Marianne Brennan, Doris Provenzano of Monroe, and Diane Millo of Newtown. She leaves behind her loving brother Richard Millo Sr., and his partner Marge Ignatowski of Indian Land, SC, and her sister-in-law Joyce Millo of Monroe. Her cherished grandchildren, Annika and Liam Brennan of Monroe, who referred to her affectionately as “Nunu”. Several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her longtime aide, Valerie Campbell, whom she adored and referred to as another sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Rd, Newtown, CT. Interment will immediately follow at Monroe Center Cemetery, Old Tannery Rd, Monroe, CT.
