Fern S. Gelb

Fern S. Gelb, age 80 of Shelton, formerly of Stratford, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 with her family by her side. Fern was born in Bridgeport, CT, daughter of the late Arnold and Blanche Greenfield, and was the Secretary of Temple Beth Shalom of Stratford for 23 years.
Fern is survived by her beloved husband, H. Richard Gelb of Shelton, CT, her devoted daughter, Marcie Schlager and her husband Matthew of Stratford, CT, her son Michael Gelb and his wife Tracy of Stratford, CT, and by her adored grandchildren, Bethany Schlager, Briana Schlager and Emma Gelb. Fern was also predeceased by her cherished brother, Brian Greenfield.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Loyalty Cemetery on Burroughs Road in Fairfield. Shiva will be observed at the Schlager residence in Stratford. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the National Kidney Foundation.
