Another good friend from High School has passed. Where has the time gone? It only seems like yesterday that we were all young and now most of us are 70. John was a good guy. My condolences to his family.

Dr. John Sparano - Many good thoughts of our conversations, years ago in the late 70's & early 80's at CHS..  Jimmy Dobbs (CHS 62 -now deceased), Yourself & I during the fall and winters (Basketball Season)...Dobbs was the Head Basketball Coach at CHS, I was one of his assistant coaches...During that period of time you were a Teaching Dept. head at CHS...After practise and at Basketball Games, I remember seeing you, sitting in the stands near our bench, and afterwards would stop by and say "Good Game" whether we won or lost...That was followed by a number of conversations about the then "current" C,H.S. Athletic Program, compared to when John  & Jimmy played sports..John's conversations were not limited to Sports, but had a command of other subjects relating to what was happening in Bridgeport...Although I did not know John in H.S.,when he was the CHS Quarterback, but later as as a caring person, who took time out of his busy schedule to say hello & spend time talking about the "Good Times" at CHS .....RIP  John  ......   Rick Marchionni

John was in my homeroom all through HS. He always had a comment and brought a smile to our faces. At that time football and sports were a big part of his life.

I enjoyed seeing him at a couple reunions. Last summer as we chattted he remembered Mr. Towne & room 313 - so glad he got to see old friends and share some memories with us.
