Roseann Sansone (Rosie) Roberts Obituary

ROBERTS,
ROSEANN SANSONE
Ocala - Roseann Sansone Roberts (Rosie), a longtime resident of Ocala, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Florida Hospital. Born in 1943 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Rosie graduated from Central High School in 1961 and furthered her education and trade skills in secretarial school. Rosie spent most of her career in administrative positions. She retired from Bice Cole Law Firm in 2008 after more than three decades of employment.
Rosie met her husband and life partner, George Roberts, at a record hop after one of his performances with a doo-wop group in 1959. They were engaged the following year and married on June 8, 1963. Their marriage lasted 52 years until George's death in 2015. Their lives encompassed wonderful moments of family and friends, pets, traveling, shows, music and dance. Their lives were rich of love, kindness, empathy, joy, and a contentment of the simple and solitude way of life. Rosie had a passion for Christ, as well as animals, in which she spent many of her latter years volunteering at Grace Episcopal Church and The Marion County Humane Society.
Rosie is survived by family, Scotty Tomas Roberts (grandson); Roselyn Piper Roberts (granddaughter); Timothy Charles Roberts (son); Scott Thomas Roberts (son); Donna Jean Roberts; Tanya LaWana Berry-Wicksnin; Justin Michael Berry; and Joseph William Wicksnin.
She is preceded by her husband, George Anthony Roberts; brother, Charles James Sansone; and parents, Nicholas Vincent Sansone and Maria Virginia Colasurdo. Rosie had the biggest heart for family and that shined through her every day.
A committal ceremony will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 2pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 5740 S. Pine Ave. Ocala, FL. A reception will follow at Grace Episcopal Church, 503 SE Broadway St. Ocala, FL, to celebrate Rosie's life. Roseann was a wonderful friend during our Central HS years. She was just as described in this obit...very warm, friendly and intelligent. Lost contact after her marriage, but always hoped she would show up at a reunion or on this website with contact information. So sorry to hear of her passing. She will make a great angel.

I did not know Roseann but it is always a terrible loss anyway when we lose another classmate. My condolences and love to her family. Dennis Watkins

I so very much agree with Dennis, that the loss of any classmate is truly sad.  And as we age, it will happen more often.  That’s why I, and those who are working on reunions and birthday parties, urge all  who are able,  to come to these events. Our next reunion will be in 2021, so I hope as many classmates as possible  will consider attending.

I have to agree with Den and Nancy, it is always so sad when we hear of another one of our classmates passing away.  It seems like just yesterday when we received our diplomas in the auditorium at UB and now we are losing our friends.  It makes our reunions that more special.

I do recall Roseann - certainly in some of my classes. All the previous comments express my feelings as well. My condolences to her family.
